A 100mm (4”) internal type gear pump was supplied at the end of 2016 for the bulk transfer of resins at a company manufacturing chemicals for the automobile industry. The pump was castiron and ?tted with a high quality SiC/SiC hard faced shaft seal and supplied baseplate mountedwith shaft coupling, non-sparking guard and geared electric motorThe entire pump set was ATEX certi?ed. There are speci?c problems to overcome when handlingsensitive, high viscosity resins but Applied pumps having many years of experience with these?uids are well placed to provide an excellent, value for money solution.
A few weeks prior to this a specialist 150mm (6”) internal gear type pump set was suppliedto CEPSA the national Spanish oil re?ner. This complete unit was again fully ATEX compliant butthis time it also had to meet the stringent API requirements common to the oil & gas industry. Thestrict API design and certi?cation speci?cations mean that only a handful of companies are able tocomply, however this pump was successfully installed and is now in regular use for the bulk transfer of fuel emulsions.
Applied Pumps stock a large number of pumps and are often able to ?nd a solution for customers even after their usual suppliers have given up.The company also has the ability to design new pumps to suit specialist OEM applications for oillubrication, fuel transfer often using bespoke gerotor type gear sets.
